Leave Your Legacy
Shape the future of St Chad’s College by leaving a gift in your Will
Legacy gifts are truly extraordinary and are a deeply meaningful gesture. A gift’s impact ripples out to touch many lives, yet at its essence it is profoundly personal. Your legacy is a timeless reflection of your values and can reveal your unwavering dedication to a cause that you hold dear, destined to be cherished and carried onward.
While everyone’s Chad’s story is different, there continues to be a a shared connection to the College and a common interest in safeguarding its future with a legacy gift. As you make the heartfelt decision to leave a legacy gift to St Chad’s, you and your family can take comfort in the knowledge that your core beliefs will be upheld by those who genuinely understand and share your passion.
Why leave a Legacy?
Legacy gifts have had a profound impact on the shape of the College and the lives of our students. No matter what the size, these generous gifts have helped us change the lives of the students who pass through the Green Door. Gifts have created scholarships, allowing deserving students a chance at a transformative educational experience, they have allowed us to complete much-needed outreach work with local schools, inspiring the next generation of Chadsians, they have transformed our spaces, and allowed the College to bring its strategic mission and values to life, futureproofing us for generations to come, ensuring that shared Chad’s connection continues.
Horsfall Society
Those who notify us that they have left a gift to St Chad’s College in their Will will be invited to join our Horsfall Society, named after our founder and benefactor Howard Douglas Horsfall without whose generosity the College would probably not exist. The Horsfall Society meets for lunch with the Principal once a year and members also receive invitations to other significant College events.
How to leave a Legacy
A legacy gift costs nothing in your lifetime, but from the moment you pledge, you know you are making a difference to the future of St Chad’s. Our status as an exempt charity may reduce the amount of inheritance tax that your estate is liable to pay, and if you are giving from a non-UK nation, there may also be tax benefits.
The process of leaving a legacy is effortless. You can make a legacy donation to St Chad’s College when writing your will. Or you could make an amendment to your existing will (codicil).
We recommend that you seek advice from your solicitor.
