Illness
Report this to both your academic department and the Student Support Team (chads.support@durham.ac.uk) and complete a Self-certification of Absence Form online here.
Academic issues, extensions or struggling with exams
Discuss this with your Academic Advisor in your department in the first instance. If you want to discuss this, or related issues, further or need to request a Concession you should book an appointment with the Student Support Team at St Chad’s HERE or by emailing chads.support@durham.ac.uk.
Personal distress or concern for another student
For urgent concerns contact the College Reception by phone on 0191 33 43358. Alternatively you should email chads.support@durham.ac.uk to book an appointment with the Student Support team or book an appointment online HERE. If you would prefer to speak to someone in person, the Assistant Principals, Jeanna and Charlie, along with the Vice Principal, Victoria, can be found in Main College on the first floor.

Peer Support
For less urgent concerns and when you feel it would be helpful to talk to a fellow student about an issue of concern, you can contact the student-led JCR Wellbeing Team. They hold regular drop-ins in College on Wednesdays and Sundays 1 – 2 pm in the JCR Wellbeing Office (Main College, first floor).

For an emergency see below. For urgent hotline support contact Student Space via their website, Samaritans on 116 123 (free of charge), or Nightline (number on the back of your Campus Card).
Noise complaints
Call the College Reception on 0191 33 43358. Remember, you can report anonymously.
In an Emergency
If it is truly an emergency and you need police, fire or an ambulance, you should dial 999 from your mobile phone and clearly explain the emergency.
Livers in must also inform the College Porter as soon as possible by contacting 0191 33 43358 (Reception) or 07968 690 830 (Night Porter Mobile). Livers out may also wish to do this.
