Moulsdale Hall – St Chad’s College Dining Room

Moulsdale Hall (St Chad’s dining hall) is one of a number of defining spaces in our College at the heart of our community life. It’s the place where we eat together on a daily basis, get to know fellow Chadsians across subject disciplines, year groups and cultural backgrounds, and where we welcome guests.

In the academic year 2022 / 2023, we held a series of College Conversations – which included students, staff and governors – about the legacy of one of our main founders and benefactors, Douglas Horsfall, whose grandfather, Charles, had made most of his money from the labour and trade of enslaved people. As a result of these conversations, we agreed that the pictures in our dining room should reflect not only our history (our Founders, Benefactors and Principals), but also who we are today, our values and aspirations.
