Joe Bundy

JCR President

E-mail: chads.jcrpresident@durham.ac.uk

Hey everyone! I’m Joe, a maths student from Hampshire, and I’m really excited to be this year’s JCR President! I’ve made some amazing memories and friendships here at Chad’s, so my main goal as Pres is to make sure everyone enjoys their time here too! I’ll be having regular meetings with college officers, governors, Durham uni staff, other JCR presidents, etc.
I’ll also be involved in college, working with committees and the JCR as a whole. Most importantly though, my job is to stand up for the best interests of Chad’s wherever possible.

Emma Sage

Vice-President

E-mail: emma.sage@durham.ac.uk

As the JCR Vice-President it is my job to work with Joe to overlook the running of the JCR, attending meetings and assisting him wherever necessary. I have a great variety of responsibilities such as organising freshers week, planning summer ball and most importantly organising the all important Chad’s stash. The more serious aspect of my role requires me to be in charge of discipline at Chad’s - but luckily there never seems to be much of this! I am a very passionate Chadsian who has been very involved in college life, so you will be sure to always see me around.

Hannah Crockett

Wellbeing Officer

E-mail: hannah.crockett@durham.ac.uk

Hey, I'm Hannah - a Biology student from Nottingham!
The main part of my role of Wellbeing Officer is to lead the lovely Wellbeing committee in providing support for the mental, physical, and sexual health needs of all Chad's JCR members! Get excited for some super fun campaigns this year, where we host health related events like petting zoos!! I'm always happy for a chat, so just say hi!

Liv Shelley

Secretary

E-mail: olivia.shelley@durham.ac.uk

As Secretary, my role involves minuting Exec, JCR, and College Officer meetings, running the JCR’s social media presence, and compiling pre-arrival information for the incoming Freshers about life as a member of the JCR. I also act as the Livers’ Out Representative, and provide advice and guidance to anyone living outside of college accommodation. I also, with the help of Joe, make the weekly newsletter entitled ChadsFeed!

Nash Jardine

Treasurer

E-mail: nash.jardine@durham.ac.uk

Hi everyone, I’m Nash, and I’m a History student from lovely Leeds in Yorkshire. As Treasurer, I’ll be keeping the JCR financially secure and making sure Chadians receive help with any money problems. This means that if you have any money related questions or queries, please reach out and I’ll be happy to help!

Anna Gilbert

Domestic Representative

E-mail: anna.gilbert@durham.ac.uk

As the domestic and sustainability representative (DomSus) my role intersects between two important components of what makes Chad’s itself. This means working to ensure the smooth operation of the domestic side of Chad’s including formals, menus as well as the wonderful vending machine. In addition to this I also ensure that the JCR is acting as sustainably as possible to meet our sustainability goals, while also chairing the Green Committee within college and helping to organise events.

Oli Smith

Bar President

E-mail: oliver.smith2@durham.ac.uk

As Bar President I am in charge of the Bar Committee. 'BarCom' is made up of five undergraduates who manage various aspects of the day-to-day running of one of the most popular college bars in Durham. My job is to ensure that everyone else on the committee is doing their job as well as liaising with the Exec, College Officers and helping with Social Events and College Balls. We've a great range of World Beers and Premium Spirits that regularly bring in visitors from all across Durham. With a great cosy atmosphere, Chad's Bar is the perfect place for a night out, as well as a casual drink after a long day of studying. In addition, all of our staff members are students at Chad's. All of the money we make each year is invested into various committees, and sports with some money set aside to improve the bar.

Jessie Thomas

Social Secretary

E-mail: jessica.k.thomas@durham.ac.uk

As social secretary, I am responsible for the organisation of the majority of social events which are huge part of college life. These include everything from freshers week, to numerous bops, themed formals and the legendary chads day! Working with the rest of my the social committee, we ensure that Chadsians have the most fun possible!!

Stan Hemmings

Sports Officer

E-mail: stanley.hemmings@durham.ac.uk

As Sports Officer, I am in charge of all sports within the college, and organising and overseeing all the teams and captains. This makes me the first port of call for any and all sports related questions or queries, and I’m also in charge of @teamchads on Instagram- the account for sports at Chad’s which is the best place to keep up to date with everything that’s going on in Chad’s sport!

This means I’m also in communication with Team Durham a lot to ensure a smooth running of the Collegiate Sport system which we are so lucky to be a part of! Chad’s especially offers a great space for anyone to get involved with sport, no matter your previous experience to create a fun and welcoming atmosphere for everyone!

Non-Executive Officers

Tom Stephens

Chair of the JCR

E-mail: thomas.stephens@durham.ac.uk

I’m Tom, a history undergraduate and your next Chair of the JCR. I am a beacon of impartiality, a friendly figure for new (and old) faces, as well as Supreme Governor of the Bog and its many sheets. When not reading and re-reading the Constitution, you can find me on the football pitch or in Chads bar. Don’t be afraid to come say hello; I don’t bite (unlike Joe Bundy).
